Here is a Sunset Models O 2-Rail BRASS B&O Q-4B 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Loco & Tender #4611. This engine and tender feature brass construction, beautiful factory paint and decoration, powerful can motor with flywheel, smoke unit, operating lighting, detailed cab interior, metal side rods, metal wheels and axles, die cast tender trucks, electro-coupler, TMCC equipped with RailSounds.
Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the "Mikado" found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The locomotive's boiler railing is disconnected at the front platform. The locomotive's grab-iron pieces on the cab sides are bent. The locomotive's cut-lever is bent. The tender has a piece of the rear step broken off and missing. The tender's roof railing is bent. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
