This is a Lionel 6-12832 O And O27 Block Target Signal.
When a train runs over the contactor the light switches from red to green (or vice versa, depending on how you wire it). After the train passes by, the light changes back. It can also be wired into switches to indicate the current setting of switch (this is a great feature for a switch that is hidden or far away).
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are nicks and scratches on the ladder, plastic based and the plastic trim of the light.
