Lionel 456 Vintage O Operating Coal Ramp, Controller & 3456 Operating Hopper Car VG/Box

Here is a Lionel 456 Vintage O Operating Coal Ramp, Controller, and 3456 Operating Hopper Car from 1950-55. The coal ramp allows you to back a 3456 or other operating hopper car up the ramp, couple it with the coupler at the top of the ramp, and then uncouple the car from the rest of the train. There is a 3rd button on the controller to unload the coal through the hatches on the bottom of the 3456 car. The 456 can also be used in conjunction with the 397 Coal Loader (requiring the maroon plastic transfer bin and two mounting posts); With this configuration, the coal that is unloaded from a 3456 type hopper on the 456 ramp is transferred directly into the 397. The ramp measures 35 inches long x 7 inches tall x 3 1/2 inches wide. The hopper features die-cast metal trucks, operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item is nonfunctional and being sold as is due to the severe degradation in the wiring and electronic components. There are severe nicks, scratches, and spots of surface rust on the body of this item and the shell and chassis of the hopper car. Numerous elements are misaligned, bent, damaged or missing.
