Lionel 2056 Vintage O 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive VG
This is a Lionel 2056 Vintage O 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive from 1952. This is a Korean War hybrid using a Berkshire boiler casting on a Hudson wheel arrangement. Features include a 3-position E-unit, an operating smoke unit and an operating headlight. Additional features are die-cast truck sides, metal gears, wheels and axles.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
