This is a Kato 35-6203 HO Scale Amtrak Phase VI Baggage Car #1231. Baggage cars are a necessary part of any mid-to-long distance train as they provide room to store passenger luggage. Acquired by Amtrak in the 70’s, many of Amtrak’s “heritage” baggage cars are older than Amtrak itself – a tribute to their rugged construction and continued utility. Model Features: Most current Amtrak Paint Scheme. Ready to roll with no added detail parts needed. Metal weights give prototypical heft and momentum. Optional included Kinematic couplers allow prototypical close coupling while still navigating tight radii. Can be upgraded to illuminate the marker lights on either end of the car with an easy to install drop in board (Item #958046 sold separately). Can be illuminated by the Kato 7-504 Ver. 2 Interior Lighting Kit.
