American Flyer 718 Vintage S New Haven Red Operating Mail Pickup Car VG

Here is an American Flyer 718 Vintage S New Haven Red Operating Mail Pickup Car from 1946-54. This is designed to be used with a mail pickup arm that is fastened along the side of the track and a plastic mailbag. When the car comes along next to the pickup arm, the arm inside the car comes out and picks the mailbag off of the stationary mail arm. Features include plastic construction, tin-plate trucks with metal journals, knuckle & link couplers and metal or plastic wheels.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item did not function when tested and is being sold as is. There are light nicks, scratches, and spots of surface rust on the shell and chassis. This car has one link coupler and one knuckle coupler. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
