This is an American Flyer 499 Vintage S New Haven Powered Electric Locomotive from 1956-57. Features include working pantographs, a powerful motor, a reverse unit, an operating light, decorative horns, die-cats metal trucks, operating metal knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles. It measures approximately 14" inches in length. Please see my pictures for additional features.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. When tested the locomotive would make sound and move forward, but not backwards. There is a little surface rust on the metal parts. There are a few scratches and nicks along the train. Overall this train is in excellent condition and shows light signs of use. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
