American Flyer 21156 Vintage S 0-6-0 Dockside w/White Running Board Stripe EX

Here is an American Flyer 21156 Vintage S 0-6-0 Dockside w/White Running Board Stripe. It comes equipped with Pull-mor traction tires on rear drivers, special vertical motor designed for Docksider locomotives; four sliding shoe contacts, no smoke or choo-choo, two-position reverse unit mounted on rear of chassis, and knuckle couplers front and rear.

Introduced in the 19th century, the 0-6-0 model locomotive was one of the earliest models ever introduced to rail roads. With the first known use being in the UK (Royal George -- 1827) the 0-6-0 would become a staple on European rail-ways with the vast majority of countries relying on the 0-6-0. It wouldn't take long from the Royal George model of 1827 for the 0-6-0 to gain attention., with models becoming very prominent throughout ,much of the world by the mid-1850s. Standing the test of time is no easy task, but the 0-6-0 was up to the challenge, and would prove its usefulness well into the 20th century gaining prominence in dock-yard railways thanks to their smaller wheel design. The 0-6-0 was a pioneer of the rail-road industry, and now serves a pleasant reminder of how far the industry has come!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. When tested the locomotive doesn't run that's why it's being sold as is. This item shows some light scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. This item is in excellent overall condition, free of broken trim pieces, signs of light previous use. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
